Govt reconstitutes panels for implementation of NGT orders on illegal sand mining

JAMMU, May 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered reconstitution of panels for implementing the National Green Tribunal’s orders on curbing illegal sand mining.
“In partial modification of Government order number 990-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated September 21, 2023, the committee(s) for implementation of NGT directions dated February 26, 2021 passed in OA number 360/2015 titled National Green Tribunal Bar Association V/s Virendra Singh, are hereby reconstituted,” read an order issued by the General administration Department.
As per the order, the Committee in Jammu Division shall comprise of Lal Chand, Chairman, JKEIAA, Dr Kulwant Singh and Prof AK Raina, Members JKEAC, and Regional Directors, JKPCC, Jammu, and MoEF&CC, IRO, Jammu as Members.
The committee in Kashmir Division shall comprise of Nazir Ahmad, Member JKEIAA, Shuja Ahmad Hyderi, Member JKEAC, Mir JAved Jaffar, Member JKEAC, and Regional Directors, JKPCC, Kashmir, and MoEF&CC, IRO, Jammu as Members.
