SAMBA, May 15: Police in Samba District claimed today they have foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 12 animals from the clutches of the smugglers.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO concerned during vehicle checking at NHW Naka Tapyal intercepted a truck for checking.
During search of the vehicle, he said, 12 animals were found crammed inside the vehicle in a cruel manner. They were transported illegally, he added.
While the animals have been rescued a case FIR number 69/2024 Under Section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and further investigation taken up, said the police spokesperson.
