One killed, 2 injured in truck-dumper collision

RAMBAN, May 15: One person was killed and two others injured today when a truck collided with a dumper in Dalwas area on National Highway.
Police sources said that a truck (bearing registration number PB35Q-4481) which was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar when reached near Dalwas collided with a dumper bearing registration number JK 19A-0166 from the back side.

They said due to the impact of collusion, both the vehicles overturned and were completely damaged. In the mishap, truck driver died on the spot whereas the driver and helper of the dumper (tipper) sustained injuries. The dead body of the truck driver and the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Ramban.

The deceased truck driver was identified as Manjeet Singh, 50, son of Balwant Singh resident of Model Town (Shiv Nagar, Pathankot, Punjab) while police identified the injured dumper driver and helper as Mohammad Akram and Bahar Ahmad of Sumber (Ramban). As per information, the condition of both the injured was stable.
SHO of Police Station Chanderkote, Inspector JS Rakwal said that a case FIR number 68 of 2024, under Section 279/304(A), was registered in this connection at Police Station Chanderkote and further investigation started.
