Free transportation for Mela Kheer Bhawani demanded

JAMMU, May 16: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) was held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita. Speaking in the meeting Pandita said that holy festival of Jyestha Ashtami (Mela Kheer Bhawani) falls on June 14, 2024 for which the Government should arrange 100 JKRTC free buses with security from Jammu to Tulmulla, Ganderbal in Kashmir and back to Jammu.
Pandita demanded that 30 JKRTC buses for Jagti migrants and 70 for other camps and non-camp migrants on June 12, 2024 so that the pilgrims can go for Darshan of Kheer Bhawani and other religious places in Kashmir as per past practice.
He said that apart from this thousands of pilgrims are going to Kheer Bhawani and other places of Kashmir Valley on their own on June 11 and 12 for which the Government should provide them route permission and security.
