JAMMU, May 16: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the online portal for fresh admissions for the July 2024 session for the academic year 2024-25.
IGNOU Offers UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate programmes. The desirous candidates can fill the application form through online mode. The minimum eligibility criteria for UG courses are that students must have passed 10+2 from a recognized university and for PG courses, candidates must be a graduate from a recognized university.
Seeking applicants can access the admission portal at www.ignou.ac.in or directly follow the link https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Candidates aspiring for admission should complete their admission process on this portal before the deadline. The last date to apply for admission through the online portal is June 30, 2024, said a spokesperson of IGNOU.
IGNOU offers admission to various UG, PG, Certificate, Diploma, PG Diploma programmes in distance learning and online education mode. IGNOU offers multiple courses such as BSW, MBA, MCA, BCA, MA English and Masters in Rural Development in online mode. As per the new UGC guidelines, candidates can now study two online or offline programmes at the same time.
Before filling the admission form online, a candidate needs to create a User ID and Password on the SAMARTH portal and be ready with a Mobile number, Email ID, properly scanned academic documents, photograph and Bank Debit /Credit/Net Banking for payment of fee.
Learners seeking admission must provide their own email ID and mobile number at the time of registration even if they are submitting their admission forms online from a Cyber Cafe. They must note their User ID and Password for future use.
It is pertinent to mention here that IGNOU has launched 39 new programmes in the year 2023 and a number of more programmes in the recently concluded January 2024 admission session which include Four-year undergraduate programmes (FYUP) in Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Journalism & Digital Media, Biochemistry, Facilities and Service Management.
