While addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Shashank Mani Tripathi in Gauri Bazar, the Defence Minister said that India will never give up its claim on PoJK but there will be no need to occupy it by force because its people will themselves want to merge after seeing the development in Kashmir.
He said there has been a lot of improvement in Jammu and Kashmir as a lot of economic progress is taking place in the region and peace has returned there than before. “All this is the result of the efficient leadership of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
Attacking the Congress, Rajnath alleged that Congress spent half a century toppling the elected Governments in the country. He said that till now President’s rule has been imposed 132 times in the country under Article 356, out of which 90 times the President’s rule was imposed during the reign of Congress.
He said that the INDI alliance is accusing the BJP of weakening democracy. He asked the Congress whether the Prime Minister of our government has been involved in toppling an elected government.
He said that whenever action is taken against corruption, the opposition says that democracy is in danger.
Rajnath said that after looking at the four phases of elections it can be said that BJP is moving towards a victory on 400 seats. He said that the 2024 election is focused on the achievements of the BJP in the last decade, with emphasis on good governance, development, and the popularity, credibility, and track record of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
