Jammu, May 18: SSP Traffic National Highway Ramban Rohit Baskotra and Dy.SP Traffic Udhampur interacted with truck drivers at Udhampur. SSP NHW listened to the grievances of drivers like irregular traffic haltages due to sudden road blockades at NH, issues of resting places and parking places on NH , real time information sharing and road condition.
He told the drivers that issues related to their welfare will be taken up with higher ups. He awared them that NH- 44 stretch between Nashiri -Banihal is under construction and so they all have to keep patience about practical problems on the of NH like road width in few stretches, on going construction activities and nomadic movement.
During the course of interaction, all drivers were briefed to keep their vehicles mechanically fit while travelling on NH-44, keep sufficient fuel in their vehicles to avoid inconvenience to them and other commuters and keep always helper/conductor to handle any breakdown and maintain documents.
Drivers also instructed to take proper rest after long driving spans and refrain from intoxicating drugs. They were also directed to take care of their physical and mental fitness like regular eye checkup , heath check up and sound sleep.
Beside this SSP Traffic also briefed drivers to follow proper daily traffic advisory issued from Traffic Headquarters Srinagar and to follow Traffic rules, maintain lane discipline, avoid rash driving and don’t use mobile phone .
