ADGP reviews election preparedness in Rajouri-Poonch

RAJOURI/POONCH, May 18: Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, conducted a review of election preparedness in the Rajouri and Poonch districts.
He held meetings with officers from the Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to assess security arrangements for the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
The ADGP, accompanied by DIG Rajouri Poonch Range and SSP Poonch, also undertook an area familiarization exercise from Bhimber Gali to Rajouri via Manjakote. This exercise aimed to enhance understanding of the terrain and strategic points to bolster security measures in the region.
In a significant security meeting held at the DPL Conference Hall in Rajouri, ADGP Jain discussed the security arrangements necessary for the smooth conduct of elections.
He solicited inputs from officers on various projects to ensure a secure electoral process. Emphasis was placed on area domination by Police and Security forces during the elections.
Jain stressed the importance of a foolproof security plan for candidates and polling booths, considering the sensitivities of different areas.
The ADGP highlighted the necessity of peaceful and violence-free elections. He called for enhanced coordination and synergy among all forces on the ground to ensure free and fair elections.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including DIG RP Range, DIG CRPF, SSP Rajouri, Additional SP Rajouri, all SDPOs, DySP Operations, and nodal officers from CAPFs and the Army.
In addition to the security review, ADGP Jain paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police at the Martyrs Memorial at District Police Lines (DPL) Rajouri.
The solemn ceremony honored the sacrifices of officers who laid down their lives in the line of duty, reaffirming the commitment to uphold their legacy of bravery and service.
