Opium crop destroyed in Budhal

RAJOURI, May 18: An opium crop was destroyed by police in Budhal area of Rajouri district today.
Official sources said that a police team from Budhal during patrolling traced a cultivation of opium crop near the house of Sikander Hussain Shah, son of Munawer Hussain Shah, resident Rather Mandi. This cultivation was done in around one Marla of land.
Taking note of it, the civil administration was informed and Executive Magistrate reached the site after performing legal formalities, poppy cultivation was destroyed.
In this connection a case FIR No. 51/ 2024 U/ S 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered.
SSP Rajouri has warned of any such cultivation in the district informing people about restriction in cultivating this crop. He said any act of its cultivation, can draw stern legal action.
