‘NC misleading people of J&K’

JAMMU, May 18: Ridiculing the statement of former Chief Minister and vice president of National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah that Article 370 was hollowed, BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chugh today said “If the controversial Article 370 was already made hollow why NC and other constituents of People’s Alliance of Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) approached Supreme Court for its restoration”.

Talking to media, Chugh said why NC and other regional parties knocked the door of Supreme Court for restoration of Article 370. He said “NC, it’s leadership and Gupkar Alliance hoodwinked people of Jammu and Kashmir for years over Article 370 and today when the law is nowhere these political parties are once again playing with the sentiments of people on it”.
Chugh said ST, SC, OBC and other underprivileged classes were deprived from their rights by these political clans with the existence of Article 370, and with its abrogation people from all communities have been given their rights.
Hitting out at NC vice-president, Chugh said that till yesterday, former CM Omar Abdullah was reluctant over taking part in elections, but after sensing their defeat on ground they have once again started to shot statements on Article 370 and exploit people’s sentiment.
He said sensing defeat of INDIA bloc, the NC is in great desperation and hence they have started misleading and hoodwinking people once again with their baseless and hollow statements.
Chugh said the NC leaders sold bad dreams for 70 years and misled the people of J&K just to remain in power and promote their families and kith and kin by leaving the common masses in lurch. The discriminately policies pursued by NC during its rule has deprived a vast section of J&K people of the benefits of various welfare schemes and policies, he added. The Paharis, Gujjars, SCs and STs, OBCs, West Pak refugees as well as Balmiki Samaj besides the people of Ladakh region were totally discriminated against during the NC rule, he added.
He warned the NC leadership to refrain from misleading people of J&K now as there are no takers for the bad dreams and they will not sell any more in future as the people have fully seen through the party’s game plan. He said the three dynastic parties which are the part of INDIA bloc are responsible for the miseries and sufferings of people of J&K and pushing the erstwhile state into a dark era.
Chugh, while exuding confidence that BJP will win Ladakh Lok Sabha seat said people of region are with the party and PM Narendra Modi who took keen interest in the development of this backward region and for the welfare of its people.
He said BJP is seeking vote on the basis of its performance and development done in Ladakh UT. He said BJP freed the people of the region from the injustice which it met through successive Governments of NC, Congress and PDP by granting the UT status to the region. Besides, the BJP took keen interest in development of Ladakh by constructing Zojila and Atal tunnels so that the region will remain connected with the rest of country throughout the year.
Cautioning the people of the UT against the dubious game plan of NC and Congress, he said people of Ladakh must ask the two parties why they ignored Ladakh in the development during 70 long years of their rule and why not an all weather road was constructed in the region till date.
He said besides Zojila tunnel, a network of roads has been constructed in Ladakh by Modi Government and the UT is fast on the track of development and progress at present. He said an airport has been constructed in Ladakh, Haj quota has been increased for the UT and supply of adequate ration was ensured, he added.
The people of Ladakh were also given the benefit of all welfare schemes of Modi Government including PM’s Aawas Yojna, Ayushman Bharat, Har Ghar Nal etc so we are confident that the people of Ladakh will vote for BJP for their prosperity and development of the Himalayan region.
Chugh also took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal for assault on Party Rajya Sabha, MP, Swati Maliwal at CM’s residence. He said with this assault on a woman MP at CM’s residence the AAP and INDIA bloc have been exposed. When a woman that too an MP is not safe even at CM’s residence what can be the fate of a common man? he asked.
Earlier, addressing public meeting at Poonch today, Chugh asked people to vote against NC, PDP and Congress and elect the BJP supported candidate in Anantnag- Rajouri constituency.
