MGAC Sirro, Chakreshwar Sanstha celebrate Ganesh Chaturdashi

JAMMU, May 22: A large number of devotees including the people of Village Sirro and general public drawn from various States/UTs of the country, especially, J&K, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan thronged Durga Mandir, Sector-1, Durga Nagar, Jammu to seek the blessings of Maha Ganesh as Maha Ganesh Asthapan Committee (MGAC) ‘Brantal’ Sirro, Pattan, Baramulla solemnised Varshik Yagya with religious fervour on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturdashi here, today.
It may be recalled that before the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in 1990, this Varshik Yagya used to be solemnized with religious fervour at famous Kashmiri Pandit village ‘Sirro’ , Pattan in district Baramulla of North Kashmir, which was known for celebrating the important festivals like Shivratri, Janmashtami, Navreh and Zang Trai with zeal and zest.
The Yagya began with Satsang, wherein religious scholar BL Bhat Sharnagath group presented melodious bhajans, which was followed by Kalash Pooja yesterday evening.
After the five Suhakars, the Yagya culminated with Pooranahuti at 1 pm today, followed by Prasad Vitran.
Chhabeels, fruit stalls and other allied requisite facilities were installed for devotees. Bhajan-Kirtan performed on the occasion brought ecstatic feeling to devotees.
On the occasion, the devotees paid Shradhanjali to late Chaman Lal Pandita, founding member of MGAC Brantal.
Rattan Lal Dhar along with Rajoo Dhar performed all the Vidhis of the havan on behalf of the Biradhari.
The organisers including Bhushan Lal Koul, Kiran Koul, Rajinder Kaul and Rajesh Dhar, under the guidance of MGAC Advisors namely PL Pandita, Hriday Nath Bhat and Daya Krishan Koul complimented all the volunteers for their dedicated efforts to make this religious function a success.
Meanwhile on the auspicious occasion of Shree Ganesha Chaturdashi “Ghanchodha” an impressive religious function was organised by Kashmiri Pandit community at the sacred shrine of Ganeshbal Hari Parbat Srinagar. It’s after an interval of decades that such an impressive religious Karyakram was held at this ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha Ji Maharaj.
The programme was organised by the Trust of Shree Jagat Amba Sharika Chakreshwar Sanastha Hari Prabhat Srinagar Kashmir under the chairmanship of Ranjeet Gurkha.
The religious function started with the traditional Ganesha Vandana and ceremonial Abhishek Puja of Shree Ganpati Ji Maharaj. Bajan Kirtan was also performed by the devotees on the said auspicious occasion.
Besides Laddoo Prasaad general Prasaad was also served to present devotees.
Among the various dignitaries Dr Sandeep Mawa, Vinod Ji Bhat, Ramesh Kumar Bhat, Anil Kumar, Ashok Aima, Avtar Ji Koul, Ravi Sathoo, Ashok Razdan, Rattan Lal Koul attended the programme.
Dedicated team of Sharika Sanastha under the leader ship of its president Ranjeet Gurkha managed the function with full enthusiasm and religious commitment.
The dedicated team of Sanastha offered a number of services viz cleaning and offering Sander (Vermilion) to the Murti of Ganraz Maharaj.
