JAMMU, May 22: In a step to involve various social and religious organisations in improving Health and Medical Education in the Peer Panjal region, the Government Medical College Rajouri today received a voluntary donated dead body from Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa (Haryana).
As Human dead bodies (Cadavers) are required to teach and train Medical Students and in this region of UT, it was becoming almost impossible to get voluntary donated dead bodies and college was facing a difficult situation and was dependent upon the availability of unclaimed bodies from the district administration.
Taking a serious note of this problem faced by the college, the matter was taken up with many social organisations to encourage people about donating dead bodies for the purpose of medical research. In response to their request the Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa came forward for this noble cause and after completing all legal formalities a dead body of Sardar Sukh Dev Singh resident of Bhaini Bagha Mansa Punjab was sent by the Dera to Government Medical College Rajouri and was received there by the Administration of GMC Rajouri.
Sardar Beant Singh son of Sardar Sukhdev Singh said that this noble work is done by him, being inspired by the pious guidance and teachings on attending religious congregations of his Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan, Patron of Dera Sacha Sauda Sirsa, so that medical students can gain better knowledge about the human body and they can serve humanity in a better way.
Prof Dr A S Bhatia , Principal GMC Rajouri said that for this great work of social welfare, they are thankful to the Dera, because they have got this dead body, due to his social welfare teachings and motivations/ inspirations.
