Thieves decamp with money from Dhaanpatra of temple

JAMMU, May 22: The thieves decamped with cash from Shiv temple in Anuradhapuram Sector 1, Barnai late last night.
According to president of Anuradhapuram Welfare Committee, Shiban Ji Pandita the thieves intruded into the temple last night after breaking the locks of the gate and decamped with the money donated by the devotes kept in Dhaanpatra by breaking it.
He said the thieves also took away the money kept in cupboard of the temple by breaking its window panes. He said the Police Station Domana was informed about the incident and a team of police also visited the temple in the morning for investigation.
Pandita said earlier too at a number of times the thieves intruded into the temple premises and some residential houses and decamped with money and other costly items from there.
He demanded that the police vigil be increased in the area during night hours to curb the activities of the burglars and anti social elements.
