UDHAMPUR, May 23: Udhampur Police today arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 8.78 grams of heroin like contraband substance from his possession.
Reports said that a team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO, Inspr Raghubir Singh, intercepted one suspicious person during patrolling. On frisking of the apprehended person, namely Imran Ayub alias Minnie, son of Mohd Ayub, resident of Ward number 17, Shankar Nagar, Sallain Talab Udhampur, Police team recovered 8.78 grams of heroin like contraband substance from his possession.
Police arrested the accused and registered a case FIR under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act in PS Udhampur.
According to Police, the accused is a habitual offender and case FIR 126/2019, U/S 8/21/22, and FIR 642/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act have already been registered against him in P/S Udhampur.
Meanwhile, Police team of Police station Kud arrested an absconder namely Mohd. Musa son of Siraj Din of Miran Shaib R S Pura Jammu, who was absconding since January 3, 2024. He was involved in case FIR No. 56/2015 U/S 452/429/302/307/147/ 148 /149/120B RPC of Police Station Kud.
