It’s official that J&K will have the the NOTA option in Lok Sabha polls. Despite resistance shown by many political parties not have to this option on the pretext that it will only strengthen separatist camp which has been giving boycott calls.
However, the offiicals have alleged these fears by saying that the use of NOTA option, in any case, would have effect on the prospect of contesting candidates. The NOTA option introduced with act like a barometer, just to gauge the public mood in these elections. In case the number of people exercising this option is higher than those of the contesting elections securing votes, it should face political parties to realize that the candidates fielded by them are not acceptable to people.
Besides, make them reach the conclusion that only candidates with impecable, character and having inclination to serve the masses be fielded in the elections.
