JAMMU, Mar 14: The fresh snowfall, hailstorm has badly affected the agriculture in entire State and the Government should immediately make damage assessment to compensate the farmers.
This was stated by ANC senior vice president, Muzzafar Shah in a statement.
Shah called for conducting a survey on war footing to assess the losses so that the assistance could be provided to people.
He demanded the authorities that steps must be taken to rehabilitate those affected people whose residential houses have got completely or partially damaged besides ensuring repair of damaged power and road network.
Due to snow-covered roads, patients, especially from far-flung areas, are finding it difficult to reach hospitals. Surgeries are being postponed in rural hospitals due to the lack of staff and electricity, he said.
