Mumbai, May 25: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of Pradeep Kumar Sinha as part-time chairman of ICICI Bank for a period of three years, with effect from July 1, 2024.
“RBI has, vide its letter dated May 24, 2024, approved the appointment of Pradeep Kumar Sinha as Part-time chairman of the bank for a period of three years with effect from July 1, 2024,” ICICI Bank said in a stock exchange filing.
Sinha would succeed GC Chaturvedi, who retires on June 30, 2024.
A former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Pradeep Kumar Sinha, earlier served as the Cabinet Secretary for more than four years before moving to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He retired from there in March 2021 after 44 years of continuous service.
Sinha joined the civil service in 1977 after completing his Masters in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 1976. He had graduated in Economics from St. Stephens College, Delhi.
Notable positions held by Sinha in the Government of India include Financial Advisor and Special Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas; Secretary, Ports and Shipping; and Secretary, Power. (UNI)
