DC orders probe into death

BHADERWAH, Mar 14: After the death of a MBA student of Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University yesterday due to absence of staff, life saving drugs and medicines, the corridors of the campus remained charged today.
However, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Mubarak Singh has ordered enquiry into the matter and asked Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda Dr Anwar Batt to submit report within 15 days. Besides this, DDC also sought explanation from the BMO in this whole matter.
The MBA, MCA and MA English students after boycotting their classes assembled in the premises of the campus and raised slogans against the administration and SDH authorities.
The students passed a resolution in which it is alleged that their college mate died yesterday only due to the sheer negligence of the Sub District Hospital (SDH), Bhaderwah authorities.
They added that the copies of the resolution will be sent to Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Mohan Pal Singh Ishar for strict action against the persons behind the death of their college mate Vinod Singh Manhas.
The protesting students also said that they will continue their protest till the persons behind the death of the MBA student were punished.
Meanwhile, the students also took out a candle march in the campus and demanded justice for the deceased family.
CMO Doda Dr Anwar Batt when contacted said that action will be taken against the persons behind the alleged death of the student due to medical negligence.
It is to mention that, a MBA student of Bhaderwah Campus of Jammu University namely 22-year-old Vinod Singh Manhas, son of Uttam Singh Manhas of Kunjwani, Jammu, who suffered cardiac arrest late last night died at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah due to absence of staff, life saving drugs and oxygen on the intervening night of March 12 and 13.
The administration expressed its inability of providing chopper facility for shifting the deceased’s body to its native place and his body was shifted to the native place of the deceased by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in its chopper.
