SRINAGAR, Mar 14: Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey today directed the Public Works Department not to allow the five Incharge Superintending Engineers (SEs) to carry out financial operations of Departmental funds under their signatures till further orders.
These five SEs whose promotion was quashed by the Court earlier, include Bachan Lal, SE PMGSY, Jammu, Koushal Chand, SE JKPCC, Kashmir, Abdul Majid Khan SE SKUAST, Srinagar, Tashi Chambal, SE PMGSY, Leh, ND Khawaja, SE JKPCC, Jammu.
The court also directed the alleged contemnor, Commissioner Secretary PWD, Tanveer Jahan, to file an affidavit along with her statement of facts giving details of the financial operations conducted by these engineers after their promotion was quashed by court on February 20 this year.
Jahan has also been directed to indicate steps taken by the Government from the date of judgment for filling up the posts of SEs on regular basis as per rules.
The petitioner engineers have also filed a contempt petition against Jahan for her alleged willful, deliberate and intentional disobedience of the court orders.
The court is hearing a petition filed by some engineers who were demoted from In-charge SEs to their original posts on the court orders last year.
