JAMMU, May 26: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Masters Association (JKTMA) was convened here today by its UT president Rakesh Singh Chambial to discuss the various burning issues of Teachers & Masters with special emphasis on DPC of Teachers & Masters.
While speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Singh said that the authorities are claiming to implement NEP 2020 on the ground but the same is not possible due to shortage of Lecturers in various higher secondary schools due to which students are feeling helpless to pursue their academic studies. Further, there is no flexible subject combinations in various schools and only solution to redress the problem is to fill up the 100 percent vacant posts of Lecturers by conducting DPC of Teachers and Masters in various streams of subjects, especially in Science stream, he explained.
Expressing resentment over the SED move regarding one time exemption, Vivek Gupta, UT General Secretary, said that this is totally futile exercise and excuse to further delay the process of regularisation of Incharge Lecturers and DPC. If all the concerned Teachers/Masters already have obtained pre-facto and post-facto permission to pursue the higher studies through proper channel then what is the need to obtain one-time exemption from the Administrative department, and if the same thing is necessary then it should be implemented after the date of issuance of notice for fresh in-service teachers, he said.
Seeking attention towards the fraudulent distance mode degrees in Science stream, Rakesh Singh urged the Commissioner Secretary SED to drop such degree holders from the seniority lists.
The Association also demanded issuance of orders regarding Earned Leave (EL) for teachers who worked in summer vacations for various schemes, creation of regular posts for SSA Head teachers, creation of Teachers welfare fund, enhancement of Pay Grade of teachers equivalent to other UTs.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Parveen Singh, Rajesh Kumar and Ankush Sharma.
