POONCH, May 27: Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Poonch conducted a special drive against traffic violators, challaned 32 vehicles for different violations, imposed fine over Rs 77000 and recommended two driving license for suspension.
Official sources said that this enforcement drive was held in the presence of ARTO Poonch and Inspector at Mangnar, Bainch, Kalai and Mandi areas of Poonch with special focus on overloading, overcharging, without permit etc.
During the drive 87 vehicles were checked for various offences of MV Act, 1988 out of which 32 were e-challaned.
Information reveals that 5 vehicles were challaned Under Section 194B, 17 without SLD, 5 for overloading, 1 U/S 66/192, one without HSRP, one without fare list, one without seat belt, one without crash helmet and an amount of over Rs 77000 was imposed as fine on these violations, while two DLs were recommended for suspension.
ARTO Poonch Taaramani said that to ensure the adherence of Motor Vehicle Act, this enforcement drive was conducted in many areas of District Poonch, more such drives shall be conducted across the district so that the action under rules can be taken for traffic violations.
