JAMMU, May 28: Scores of male staff nurses today staged demonstration in Emergency Unit of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu demanding fair probe into an incident of confrontation between one of their colleagues and a Post Graduate doctor that occurred few days back.
The demonstration lasted for about half an hour during which the male staff nurses suspended all type of work in the Emergency Unit. They were demanding speedy and fair probe into the confrontation incident and action against the PG doctor for alleged manhandling of the nursing staff.
However, timely intervention by the Hospital administration, resolve the dispute between the nursing staff and PG doctors, and the nursing staff stopped their agitation.
“The GMCH administration has taken the incidence seriously and has constituted a committee headed by Chairman Disciplinary Committee who will look into the matter and has been asked to submit the report as soon as possible,” a spokesperson of GMCH Jammu said.
The spokesperson stated that the Hospital administration has addressed both the parties i.e. nursing/paramedical staff and the resident doctors and assured them that an impartial enquiry will be conducted and appropriate action will be taken against those found guilty.
