Confident of securing win in Chandigarh: Sawhney

JAMMU, May 28: Former Minister and senior Congress leader from J&K Yogesh Sawhney today said that he was confident of the victory of Congress Party in Chandigarh Lok Sabha Constituency.
With few days remaining for polling date, the Congress leaders are striving to connect with voters through vigorous door-to-door campaigning and public meetings. Another significant campaign meeting was held today at Burail in Chandigarh, in support of INDI Alliance candidate Manish Tewari, where Kuldeep Singh Rathore MLA, HP and former PCC chief Himachal Pradesh was present. Former J&K Minister and senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney was also present during the campaign.
Senior leaders including Narpal Singh, Nirmal Singh, Tejpal Singh Rana, Shiv Charan Singh, Aman Singh Rana, Sanjay Singh Rana, Abhimanyu Singh, Mohila Singh Rana and others were also present during today’s campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, Kuldeep Singh Rathore MLA, HP and former PCC chief Himachal Pradesh encouraged the people to support the Congress party and help secure its victory. Stating that BJP has played with the sentiments of the Rajput community by their insensitive comments on historical references of Rajputs marrying their daughters into Mughal lineages. He stated that BJP has hurt the sentiments of the Rajputs and has an agenda of hate politics which is not endorsed by Congress party. Rajput community must see through such behavior and put their faith in the right party, he said.
Yogesh Sawhney from J&K said that Manish Tewari is receiving widespread support from the electorate, further stating that the party’s efforts are intense to ensure victory. He is most deserving of victory in the Chandigarh Constituency and is immensely experienced with long-term association with politics, Sawhney said.
“He also has the trust and support of the people, and the party. Party units are consistently working to reach out to maximum people as very little time remains for the polling day and it is a constant effort from our end that Manish Tewari’s ideologies and vision is communicated to people so that they can make educated decisions,” Sawhney said.
The heat of the elections is palpable, with a strong emphasis on voter outreach. Sawhney expressed confidence in a favorable outcome in Chandigarh. There is no doubt that Manish Tewari is receiving considerable support in Chandigarh, Sawhney claimed.
