Temple theft case solved, stolen copper idol recovered

UDHAMPUR, May 28: Police have solved the Temple theft case by arresting accused person and recovering stolen copper idol of Nag Devta.
The theft had taken place at Shiv Temple Dandyal in Udhampur and case FIR in this connection was registered at Police Station Udhampur following a complaint.
Acting on the complaint, a police party of Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Raghubir Singh started generating the intelligence inputs and conducted raids at different suspected locations. A number of suspects/habitual offenders were questioned and one of these, identified as Kameshwar Singh son of Jowahar Lal of Mundhar, Tehsil Kashtigarh, Doda, confessed his involvement in commission of the crime.
On his disclosure, Police team also recovered the stolen copper idol of Nag Devta from his house.
The further investigation into the case is going on for ascertaining involvement of the accused in other offences.
