SUNDERBANI, May 29: BJP State president Ravinder Raina today attended the Rasam Pagri programme in honor of the late Tilak Raj Gupta, a senior BJP leader and a stalwart in the Sunderbani region, who was affectionately known as the ‘Lal Krishna Advani of Sunderbani.’
Raina paid an emotional tribute to Gupta, highlighting his lifelong dedication to the BJP and its national ideology.
Speaking on the biography of Tilak Raj Gupta, Raina recounted Gupta’s unwavering commitment to the party, stating, “Late Lala Tilak Raj Gupta played a pivotal role in upholding the BJP’s ideology and national ethos. He was a true soldier of the party, serving with unparalleled dedication. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy remains immortal in our hearts,” he added.
Raina also shared a poignant anecdote from 1994, illustrating Gupta’s devotion. During preparations for a rally by Lal Krishna Advani in Sunderbani, Gupta suffered a fall while setting up flags, resulting in a broken leg. Despite his injury, Gupta’s first concern was to see Advani’s convoy, demonstrating his deep commitment to the party.
The event saw participation from various political and social organizations, with members of the prestigious Vyapar Mandal of Sunderbani city, along with notable leaders, gathered to honor Gupta’s memory. The attendees included DDC member Rajender Sharma, Mandal president, Nasib Singh, district general secretary, Pritam Shastri, former Chairman of the Municipal Committee, Sunderbani, Joginder Gupta, Vyapar Mandal president, Sanjeev Gupta, Congress block president, Nain Chand Sharma, Kamal Gupta, Shishupal Gupta, Atul Gupta, Master Jasvir Singh, Pushpender Chadha, former Captain Ramesh Lal, and Ajay Gupta.
In his tribute, Raina emphasized Gupta’s lifelong dedication to social work and his efforts to unite the community, stating, “Gupta Ji’s life was a testament to his commitment to social harmony and party loyalty. His contributions have left an indelible mark on our party and society.”
The programme concluded with heartfelt tributes from various leaders, commemorating the extraordinary life and service of Tilak Raj Gupta, ensuring that his memory and legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
