SRINAGAR, May 29: With the rise in daytime temperatures, the J&K Teachers Association (JKTA) today urged the authorities to announce a change in school timings.
In a statement issued here, the Chairman of JKTA, Shah Fayaz, urged the authorities to order a change in the school timings due to the soaring temperatures, with the mercury touching 34 degrees.
“Most schools are concluding at 4 pm in rural areas and 3 pm in urban areas, coinciding with peak heat hours, which could pose significant health risks for students,” he stated.
He emphasized these concerns, highlighting the potential adverse effects of the scorching temperatures on children’s health.
“With these concerns in mind, we urge the Director of School Education, Kashmir, to modify school timings to mitigate the impact of the intense heat on students,” he added.
