Police organises anti drug awareness programme

SAMBA, May 30: Police today organized an anti-drug awareness programme under CAP at Government Polytechnic College Penthi, Samba which was attended by a large number of students and teaching faculty.
The programme was presided over by DySP Hqrs Samba, who was accompanied by SHO PS Samba and Incharge Police Post (PP) SIDCO Samba in which students of Polytechnic College Penthi have participated with great enthusiasm.
DySP Hqrs Samba while speaking on the occasion urged the students to channelize their energy in the right direction and participate in recreational activities besides taking keen interest in their studies. He asked the students to stay away from the drug abuse and join hands with the police in its fight to eradicate the drug menace from the society.
At the conclusion of the programme, DySP Hqrs Samba distributed school bag kits containing stationary items and lunch boxes among ten participating students.
HoD Civil Engineering Department complimented the police on behalf of the Government Polytechnic College for organizing such an anti drug awareness programme to generate awareness among students against drug abuse.
