SMVDNSSH holds 26th Health Mela at Thial Village

UDHAMPUR, May 30: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital (SMVDNSSH) partnered with the Durga Dass Sharma Memorial Society (Regd) to host the 26th Health Mela at Thial village.
Inaugurated by Advocate Raghu K Mehta, Board Member of the Shrine Board, the event was attended by notable figures including Additional CEO Alok Kumar Mourya, Executive Director Dr Yashpal Sharma, DGM Sudesh Sharma, SMVDNSSH Facility Director Dr M M Mathavan, BMO Majalta, and CMO Udhampur.
The annual Health Mela, held in memory of the esteemed social worker Late Durga Dass Sharma, continues to promote healthcare accessibility in the community. Dr Yashpal Sharma, a key member of the Society, highlighted the comprehensive healthcare services provided to the residents of Thial and surrounding areas.
Specialists in various fields, including general medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, dermatology, urology, oncology, and cardiology, offered consultations. Diagnostic services such as X-rays, ECGs, ultrasounds, and blood sugar testing were also available.
The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with over 850 patients receiving medical care. Nearly 900 patients, including beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat, received consultations across multiple specialties. More than 200 patients underwent crucial blood sugar tests, emphasizing preventive healthcare.
The event’s success was attributed to the dedication of healthcare professionals including Dr Ashok Sharma (Ophthalmologist), Dr Bhanu Pratap Singh (General Physician), Dr Deepak Bharti (Medical Oncologist), Dr Digvijay Singh (Urologist), Dr Jyotsana Lamba (Gynaecologist), Dr Munish Sharma (Accupressure Expert), Dr Poonam Mahajan (Gynaecologist), Dr Shruti Gupta (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), Dr Sunil Gupta (Accupressure Expert), Dr Sushant Kumar (Cardiologist), and Dr Vikas Padha (Orthopaedic Surgeon), along with diligent paramedics and pharmacists.
Students from Government Higher Secondary School, Thial, also played a crucial role in organizing the event, showcasing strong community engagement.
