JAMMU, June 1: Police in South Zone of Jammu district claimed today they have seized eight vehicles for their involvement in illegal mining.
A police official said that three tippers were seized by a team of Police Post Belicharana, a tractor trolley by a team of Police Post Chattha, and two dumpers each by Police Post Phallian Mandal, and Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu for transporting minerals illegally.
“The District Mineral Officer Jammu has been informed about the seizures made by different police teams,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a statement, SP South, Ajay Sharma said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to protecting the public property and to eradicate the menace of illegal mining in Jammu South area.
“Similar actions would follow to check the menace of illegal mining,” he said.
