MENDHAR, Mar 17: A Naib Sarpanch was killed after a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Basoni area of Mendhar on Sunday.
The mishap took place when Naib Sarpanch was going to Basoni from Darana in Mendhar to pick up some party workers to attend the rally of Ghulam Nabi Azad. As the vehicle bearing registration No. JK-12/6116 reached near Basoni, the driver lost control and vehicle landed into a gorge, killing Naib Sarpanch Upper Darana, Mohd Razak (50), son of Ghulam Mohd of the same area on the spot. While Sumo driver escaped from the spot with minor injuries, the police registered a case and started investigation.
