JAMMU, Mar 17:  “16 March Raat 2 Baje”, a play in Hindi was staged here today at Natrang Studio Theatre, Kachi Chawni in its Weekly Sunday Theatre.
Written by Vinod Kumar and directed by Neeraj Kant, the play “16 March Raat 2 Baje” very symbolically exhibits the corruption in the society which has generated an irreversible moral and ethical decay. Even after being the country of youth, India lacks strength as the youth is disillusioned and is not aware of its power, the shrewd politicians make them dance on their own threads like puppets. Youth is jobless and if they appear in the interviews even after scoring very good marks, favours (bribe and physical advances) are demanded from them which add to their frustration.
Such an incident happens in the play and the tortured youth (one girl and one boy) resolve to end their lives as they can see no hope. But to their surprise, they are not free to die as a politician who calls himself a social worker sways their decision. He coaxes them to be the part of the society if they cannot fight against it. He feels that he has the ultimate right on the country and also on the lives of the people living in it and if they have to live, they will live in the way he likes and similarly their deaths shall also be in the manner he likes.
Natrang actors who acted in the play included Syed Mudassar Ali Shah, Varun Sharma, Namarta Chib, Mahikshit Singh Sambyal and Pankaj Verma. Lights were designed by Neeraj Kant and Music was rendered by Rajan Thakyal. Susheel Raina did the presentation and the show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma.
