Zinc futures up 0.29 pc on overseas cues, spot demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 18: Taking positive cues from the global market and better domestic demand, zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.29 per cent to Rs 121.10 per kg, as speculators created positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April up by 35 paise, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 121.10 per kg, with a business turnover of five lots.
The metal for delivery in March also rose by 30 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 120 per kg, with a business turnover of 185 lots.
Marketmen said besides improved demand in the spot market, a strength in base metals overseas, supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
