JAMMU, June 3: A hardcore criminal was detained under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in Miran Sahib Area here today.
Kulbir Bhagat alias Rinku Kumar of Langotian, Miran Sahib, was booked under PSA for his continuous involvement in criminal activities in an organised manner, a police official said.
He said the accused didn’t mend his behaviour inspite of being booked under multiple FIRs in Sub-Division RS Pura.
According to the police official, the hardcore criminal was arrested by police in number of cases earlier as well but the substantive law was not enough to tame him down. As such, he continued with his criminal activities, posing a great threat to the public at large, he said.
Keeping in view the activities of the accused, the DM Jammu ordered his detention under section-8 of the Public Safety Act (PSA), he further said.
Executing the orders of the DM, a team of Police Station Miran Sahib headed by SHO concerned under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu, arrested the notorious criminal today under the PSA, added the police official.
