ASCOMS’ three-day medical festival ‘Arrhythmia-2014’ begins

JAMMU, Mar  18: Three-day long medical festival of Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital (ASCOMS) in the name of Arrhythmia-2014 began here today.
The  walkathon organized by the students of ASCOMS which started from Dussehra Ground to Green Field Ground.  ‘Save the Girl Child’ was the theme of the walkathon. The main motive of this walkathon was to spread awareness among the society regarding the burning issue of safety of the girl child.
The walkathon was flagged off by Devender Batra, Trustee ASCOMS Hospital, Dr RP Kudyar, Director Principal, ASCOMS this afternoon.  Faculty & students of ASCOMS and various Medical & Dental Colleges across J&K participated in the walk that later which culminated at the Green Field Ground.
The staff & students of ASCOMS have taken a pledge on this occasion that they will create awareness in the society to increase female/ male ration and ‘Save the Girl Child’, which is the need of the hour.
Tomorrow, the second day of the medical festival,  the programme will include Anmol Musical Nite,  Fashion Show,  Folk Dances at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University .
The festival will conclude with a star night on March 20th, 2014, by (Deep Money & J-Star) at Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University.
