MENDHAR, Mar 18: Four houses were damaged while three others were abandoned after threat from a landslides in Sangiot area of Gursai today.
Reports said that there was heavy rain in the area and four houses were partially damaged in landslides. The walls developed large cracks and some portion also came under debris. The family members who were already alert escaped to the safer places. They also removed some of their important belongings to the safer place.
Police and some officials from local administration reached the spot this afternoon. Three more houses which also came under threat were also got vacated by the administration.
The villagers whose houses got damaged were identified as Mohd Shabir, son of Khadam Hussain, Mohd Salim, Mohd Majhid and Mohd Sadiq, son of Saibtullah Khan, residents of Sangiot. The families of Mohd Riaz, Jahangir and Mohd Ayub were shifted to safer place as their houses have also come under the threat. The villagers were asked not to move to the zone under threat of land slides.
The villagers however, alleged that they have not been provided any relief by the local administration and no senior officials from Sub Division has reached up to them so far.
