JAMMU, Mar 18: Police today lodged FIR against Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front candidate for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, Anil Gupta for restraining and threatening a Government servant.
Official sources said that Assistant Returning Officer (ARO)-71 Gandhi Nagar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today noticed violation of Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines by JKDF candidate, Anil Gupta and immediately seized two vehicles.
The vehicles bearing registration numbers JK14A-6710 (Tavera) and JK02AW-8195 (Alto) were carrying election related material like banners and posters for campaigning purposes in blatant violation of ECI guidelines.

Later, the ARO got an FIR lodged against the JKDF candidate Anil Gupta, son of Prof Chaman Lal Gupta at Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
When contacted, a police officer confirmed that FIR No.57 under Sections 353 and 506 RPC has been registered against Anil Gupta.
