JAMMU, June 6: Three drug peddlers were arrested with heroin-like contraband substance from Gangyal area here today.
A police official said a naka was established at Purmandal naka by a party of Police Station Gangyal, where a Delhi number Eco Sports car was stopped for checking.
He said on search of the occupants of the car identified as Tajamul Farooq of Kralpora Mehtab, Srinagar; Sarwar Iqbal Rather of Dharam Bugh, Kralpora, Srinagar; and Sameer Hussain of Chattar Gam Budgam, heroin-like contraband substance was recovered.
Accordingly, he said, the drug peddlers were taken into custody and booked in case FIR number 52/2024 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gangyal and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the arrest and seizure was made by a team headed by SHO Gangyal Inspector Satvir Singh.
