KATHUA, Mar 19: One person died after consuming poison while two others who also consumed poison at two different places in the district are battling for their lives in Government Medical College, Hospital Jammu.
According to reports, Arun Kumar, son of Mulkh Raj of Chaksaajah, Kathua consumed some poisonous substance at his residence today.
He was rushed to District Hospital Kathua for treatment where seeing his condition critical doctors referred to GMC Jammu. But he died on his way to hospital. The Kathua police has registered a case and the body has been kept in mortuary for postmortem.
In another incident Rajni, 18, daughter of Mohan Lal of Mahpatti Lakhanpur, consumed some poisonous substance at her residence. She was referred to GMC Jammu for treatment and her condition is stated to be critical.
Ravi Kumar, 23, son of Ujagar of Hirangar also consumed some poisonous substance at his residence today. He was also referred to GMC Jammu for treatment where his condition is stated to be critical.
In another incident a youth identified as Joginder, 28, son of Tara Chand of Kathra village in Kathua district committed self immolation by dozing kerosene oil over his body at his residence this evening. He received 80 percent burn injuries. He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua where seeing his condition critical doctors have decided to refer him to Burn Ward of GMC, Jammu.
