JAMMU, June 11: Punjabi Chetna Manch has stressed for studying Punjabi language at Higher Secondary level and a campaign for the same in Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing a press conference, here today, S Charanjit Singh, Convenor of the Manch, gave a clarion call to all Punjabi loving elderly populace to prompt their young-ones to take-up Punjabi subject at 10+2 level .
He stressed that all seniors, including DGPC members and heads in Management Committees of Gurudwaras, members of the Sikh intellectual circles, Pracharaks and all those who have love and respect for Punjabi language, should ask young ones to opt for Punjabi mother tongue, which has vast potential in highly competitive job market.
“In addition, it will keep alive our mother language Punjabi and infuse religious, national and moral character among the students,” he said and advised young students to opt Punjabi as one of modern Indian languages while filling admission form and choice for the language.
The Chetna Manch leader expressed gratitude to the Department of School Education for its directive to all CEOs vide No… DSEK/Estt-1/703 dated: 17/05/2024 to formulate plan for teachers to be hired for Punjabi language too, whenever needed so that students do not suffer for their academies in class 11th and 12th.
