After this tragic incident, Dr. Amarjeet Sharma’s brother, Ramgopal, stated that a person from a particular community had come to the shop at night, purchased items for five people, and left. Following this, as part of his daily routine, Dr. Amarjeet Sharma also went to the forest. It is believed that individuals from this particular community, possibly with the help of unidentified persons who could be terrorists, brutally murdered him by slitting his throat.
He called for justice. Members of Movement Kalki Kushal Sharma and Arjun Thakur, present at the scene, appealed to the Government to investigate all encroachments on land by people from the particular community and remove them entirely. They accused that people from this community and smugglers have been aiding terrorists for a long time. These cattle smugglers might be transporting terrorists to the Valley during their smuggling activities.
The incident occurred near the International Border, and it is possible that people from the particular community are helping terrorists who cross the border. Dr. Amarjeet Sharma might have seen them, and fearing exposure, they brutally murdered him. The culprits seem to be professionals. A thorough investigation and strict action are required against those aiding terrorists and involved in smuggling and land encroachments.
Local residents also stated that they are not being issued licenses for weapons. They appealed to the Government to issue them licenses and weapons so that they can defend themselves against such forces.
