UDHAMPUR, June 12: A three-day course on ‘Anti-Human Trafficking’ concluded here today at S.K Police Academy (SKPA).
About 17 officers from various units and wings of J&K Police participated in the training.
Eminent guest faculties from various academic institutions were invited to deliver lectures and the SKPA faculty also shared their expertise on several crucial topics which included the concept of human trafficking, child trafficking, underlying reasons and solutions, investigation procedures, FIR writing, search, seizure and arrest processes in human trafficking cases, charge-sheet submission, relevant laws, case studies, and the roles of NGOs and police in prevention.
A group exercise focused on SOPs related to missing children was also conducted.
The valedictory function was attended by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP and Dy. Director (Indoor) of SKPA, as chief guest.
In his address, Gupta emphasized on the importance of understanding legal provisions to address human trafficking, child trafficking, forced labour and sex trade-emerging challenges for law enforcement.
He highlighted the need for law enforcement agencies to be well-equipped to tackle the increasing frequency of human trafficking crimes.
The course was coordinated by Sandeep Mahajan, Inspector with assistance from SI Dhian Singh, member of the faculty.
