Gharota gets first tube-well after independence

JAMMU, June 12: As a long awaited relief, village Gharota got first tube-well marking a milestone after independence.
A handout stated that in a historic moment marking a new era of self-sufficiency, the first tube-well was drilled after independence of the country and was inaugurated today in village Lower Gharota, Tehsil Bhalwal of Jammu district.
The momentous occasion signifies a major step forward in ensuring access to clean and reliable drinking water for the residents of village Gharota after getting electrical connection for the tube well from transformer which will benefit more than 200 families.
The handout further stated that the successful completion of the tube-well project is a testament to the collective efforts of Revenue Department, Jal Shakti (PHE) Department under the overall supervision of Nitish Rajora, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Jammu North, who put to use infrastructure worth crores after six years.
It is anticipated that this new source of water will not only alleviate water scarcity but will also improve the overall health and well-being of the villagers.
