JAMMU, Mar 21: A Special Police Officer (SPO) posted in Gazetted Officers (GO) mess succumbed to his burn injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) today.
As per reports, a Special Police Officer (SPO) posted in Gazetted Officers (GO) mess namely Darshan Lal, son of late Wasi Ram of Maheshpura, Bakshi Nagar received serious burn injuries yesterday when his clothes caught in flames with a lighting lamp at his residence.
He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) with over 90 per cent burn injuries.
At GMC Hospital, the victim failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his burn injuries.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
Police has taken the cognizance in this regard.
