JAMMU, Mar 21: The Deputy Commissioner, Kargil has sought three clarifications from Ladakh Affairs Department on the issue of no-confidence motion against Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil.
Official sources said the Deputy Commissioner wanted to know from Ladakh Affairs Department, which was headed by Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather on how to proceed further, whether he can go ahead with no-trust vote during Model Code of Conduct and provision of Rules in an ambiguous situation.
Sources said Mr Rather was yet to go through the clarifications sought by the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil.
Worthwhile to mention here that 11 NC Councilors had moved no-confidence motion against Congress led 30 members LAHDC Kargil.
The NC Councilors, whose campaign is being spearheaded by Kacho Ahmed Ali Khan, have claimed support of 16 Councilors in the House of 30.
Meanwhile, the NC’s Kargil unit and Islamiya School, Kargil were reportedly considering fielding an Independent candidate for Ladakh seat as they were unlikely to extend support to T Samphel, the Congress candidate, who has been backed by the NC as per seat sharing agreement between the two coalition partners.
