Terrorists remain untraced

JAMMU, June 14: Army, police and paramilitary forces continued searches in various hilly areas of Doda district in hunt of terrorists who struck at Chattargalla and Gandoh recently but managed to escape after wounding seven security personnel while search operations have also been intensified in Teryath-Kalakote border of Reasi and Rajouri districts where a pilgrim bus was targeted by the terrorists on June 9.
Police sources said search operations have been stepped in various parts of Doda especially the routes leading to Gandoh and Chattargalla where the terrorists were spotted to neutralize them before they strike again. They were of the view that there could be one or two groups of terrorists and they were believed to be Pakistanis equipped with sophisticated weapons.

Various teams of Army, police, SOG and paramilitary have been trekking hilly areas to track down the terrorists who struck at Chattargalla on June 11 night at Gandoh the next day causing injuries to seven security personnel. All of them are in stable condition.
Police officials were confident that the terrorists will be neutralized soon.
Police have already released sketches of four terrorists and announced Rs 20 lakh reward on them.

Security forces have also stepped up searches in forest areas of Teryath in Reasi district and surrounding forests in Kalakote tehsil of Rajouri district where the terrorists escaped after targeting pilgrims’ bus on June 9 in which nine persons including seven yatris were killed and 43 others were injured.
However, the terrorists haven’t been spotted again.
Searches also continued in some border areas of Hiranagar sector in Kathua district where two terrorists were eliminated by security forces and a CRPF jawan was martyred besides a civilian was injured on June 11 and 12.
