24 bovines rescued, 4 held

UDHAMPUR, Mar 22: Police today achieved a major success by rescuing 24 bovine animals and arresting 4 bovine smugglers in two different cases of Udhampur and Kud.
Based on information, a Police party from Police Station Udhampur, led by Insp Mahesh Sharma, (SHO) laid a naka near MH Chowk on National Highway. They intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. JK02V-6164 and rescued 15 bovine animals. The accused driver Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz Malik of Chambalbal Banihal and Abdul Rashid son of Mohd Shafi of Tanger, Banihal were arrested on the spot and vehicle seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 115/2014 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA stands registered at Police Station Udhampur.
Similarly at Kud, a Police party led by Insp Raghubir Singh, (SHO) laid a naka Pancharu Morh Sanasar Road and intercepted a vehicles bearing Registration No. JK02W-5171 and rescued 9 bovine animals. 2 bovine smugglers namely Mohd Nazim, son of Kala Khan of Kafi Patan Reasi and Mohd Farooq son of Abdul Aziz of Talab Tillo, Jammu were arrested. A case FIR No. 18/2014 was registered at Police Station Kud.
