SCWC demands creation of more blocks, district status to Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH, Mar 22: Demanding creation of more blocks and district status to Bhaderwah, Senior Citizen Welfare Council (SCWC) held protest and public rally here today.
The protesters in the rally said that Government ignored all the facts related to Bhaderwah and deprived Athkar, Chinta and Chakra Bhati areas from tehsil and block status.
They said that Bhaderwah needs district status being a very vast tehsil, adding that before independence Bhaderwah was a full fledged State.
The protesters who included the people from Chinta, Bhalra, Athkar, Sartingal, Nalthi, Seri, Kaloo, Domial, Amira Nagar, Dherja and other parts of the town said that if their demand is not met, all the village representative in the area will submit their resignations.
They said that they will start massive agitation if tehsil and block status along with district status is not accorded to the Bhaderwah.
The protest demonstration and public meeting were held under the chairmanship of Senior Citizen Welfare Council president Bhagat Singh Manhas.
SCWC leader JS Charak along with KK Kotwal asked the Government to consider their genuine demands otherwise they will launch a prolonged agitation against the Government and will also boycott the forthcoming elections.
Among others, who spoke were Sant Ram Shaan, Desh Raj Kotwal, Owais Chowdhary, Choudhary Shabir Ahmed, Irshad Ahmed Sheikh, Abdul Haq Zargar, Romesh Chander Khajuria, Majid Batt, Suman Bhalla, etc.
