JAMMU, Mar 22: Seven-day Advanced Statistical and Computing Application (ASCA) training programme for scientists organized by Indian Agricultural Statistical Research Institute (IASRI) at SKUAST-Jammu, concluded here today.
The programme was organized by IASRI New Delhi, in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) and National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Karnal on “Data analysis using SAS”.
About 25 scientists from SKUAST-Jammu participated in the “hands on” training to acquire skills in advance computer software.
The eminent scientists of statistical computing Dr Rajander Parsad (Consortium Principal Investigator), Dr DK Jain, Dr Ravinder Malhotra, Dr AK Sharma, Dr, AP Ruhil and Dr Manish Sharma imparted “hands on” training to the trainees.
The use of modern media (webinar) was used for delivering lectures by experts sitting in New Delhi to the trainees at SKUAST-Jammu.
The programme was concluded by Dr JP Sharma, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-Jammu. Others present on the occasion were Dr RK Gupta, Coordinator, Faculty of Basic Sciences; Dr SEH Rizvi, Prof and Head, Division of Agricultural Economics and Statistics and Dr Ravinder Malhotra, Organising Secretary of the training programme.
