Sharma urges EC to ensure issuance of voter I cards

JAMMU, Mar 22: Senior Congress leader and former legislator, Ashok Sharma, has urged the State Chief Electoral Officer and Election Commission of India to ensure distribution of voter I cards to the eligible voters before April 9 so that they can exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections.
There are complaints from the people of Kalakote, Darhal, Nowshera and Rajouri Assembly segments that they have not been issued voter I cards, he said.
Sharma also stressed for mecdamization of Kanchimore-Panglore Road and its extension to Odhan, Markanar and Salol in Kotchadwal area of district Rajouri, as demanded by the people of the area during his election campaign.
The Congress leader also expressed concern over the non-availability of teaching staff in numerous schools of area and shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in health centres, as maintained by the local people.
He also demanded the Government to ensure availability of food grains in ration stores and consumer shops in hilly areas of Kalakote, Rajouri and Budhal, which are without ration for last three months.
