RAMBAN, June 18: Police here today has arrested a bootlegger and recovered many bottles of illicit liquor from him.
The liquor peddler was travelling in a vehicle of EECO make bearing registration number JK19A-4934 in Ramsoo area when cops from Police Station Ramsoo intercepted him and recovered 16 bottles of 750 ml each along with 36 bottles of 250 ml each of JK Special Whisky and 10 beer cans of 560 ml each from the vehicle.
The liquor peddler was driving the car himself and was identified as Gul Nawaz Khan, son of Mohd Sadiq Khan, resident of Hingni, Shagan in Tehsil Khari.
He was arrested on the spot and the illicit liquor was seized.
A case in FIR number 84 of 2024, under Section 48 (a) of Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo in this regard and investigation started.
